Before you travel
The falls are usually closed to visitors outside the rainy season, roughly July to October.
Kaparkan Falls, also called Mulawin Falls, is not a single drop but a series of limestone terraces that step down a forested slope for several hundred metres. In the rainy season, water fills the shallow basins and spills from one ledge to the next. Visits are regulated, and the usual jump-off is the Silaoen registration centre in Lagayan, followed by a monster truck ride or a hike.
